Pac-10 Week 10 Notes and Observations: Arizona Wildcats

Assuming Arizona had decided to look ahead to Cal so much that they forgot who they were playing this week, it still wouldn’t have affected the outcome of the game against Washington State.
That said, credit to the Wildcats for coming out strong and handling their business.
Travis Cobb got the laugher started off right with a 95-yard return for a touchdown on the opening kickoff.
Nick Foles‘ day (12/19, 136 yards, 1 TD) was done just over a minute into the second quarter when the Wildcats took a 31-0 lead on a one-yard touchdown run by Nick Booth. At that point, Matt Scott took over, and Arizona closed the playbook and hid it away for another day. From that point forward, the ‘Cats only threw the ball five times.
Matt Scott led the way with 91 yards, and Nick Booth, Keola Antolin, and Taimi Tutogi all had over 10 carries on the day and ran for a touchdown each. Arizona ran the ball 54 times, and controlled the clock with an incredible 41:19 time of possession. William “Bug” Wright tacked on an 86-yard punt return for a TD in the third quarter.
The defense had a fantastic day, but much like the offense, that shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone.
No more softies; Arizona faces a brutal stretch including the three pre-season conference favorites (@Cal, Ore, @USC), and of course a hated rival @ASU that would love to spoil the party and catch the Wildcats looking behind or forward inbetween the Oregon and USC games.
Just how good are the Wildcats? We are about to find out.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
